Bulgaria's export of textile products and clothes is expected to decline by 15%-20% in the fall of 2009 and the winter of 2010.

On March 13, 2009 in Hilton Hotel in Sofia, was held the National forum "Bulgarian Fashion industry on the road to Europe".

The successful national event, organized as a part of the SEETAL project, gathered more than 130 representatives of Bulgarian companies from the textile, clothing and furs sector.

BAATPE and MEE signed a plan to improve the competitiveness of Bulgarian producers of garments and textiles next 2009 year.

The common activity will permit Bulgarian manufacturers of clothing and textiles, represented by BAATPE, to cope with the competitive market of the European Union and to expand further its market position.

New trade quotas will regulate access of third countries to Bulgarian labor market

At the end of the month in December 2008 Emilia Maslarova, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, establish mechanism for determining the annual trade quotas for access of third countries to Bulgarian labor market.
