Bulgarian Clothing Gains Local Ground

The share of Bulgaria-made clothing on the local market is increasing, an analysis has shown.

Experts from the guild say that more Bulgarian producers are seeking success here, than just letting foreign brands use their facilities and workforce.

Bulgaria's textile and clothing industry, however, remains strongly export-oriented, the reports said, as cited by Investor.bg.

Last year's export totalled EUR 1.7 B, and about 83% of the produce was for the EU.

Export to the bloc increased slightly, by 2%, as compared to the previous year.

About 8% of all Bulgarian workers are employed in the textile industry
