During the first three months of 2006 the foreign trade of the bulgarian T&C Industry continues its upward trend.
The bulgarian textile and clothing sector is extremely export oriented and it is one of the few Bulgarian industries that have positive foreign trade balance.
The export of Bulgarian textiles and clothing has grown with 7% for the first 3 months of 2006, compared to the same period of 2005. The T&C export comprises 16,9% of the total bulgarian exports. The textile exports grew with 17% compared to the same period of last year and the clothing exports grew with 5%.
The main partner of the Bulgarian textile and clothing exporters is the European Union - 78.7% of the bulgarian T&C exports during the first three months of 2006 went to the EU. This is mainly due to the good quality/price relationship of the bulgarian products. From the EU our main trading partners are: Italy, Greece, Germany, France and Spain.
After the EU ur next biggest T&C trading partners are in descending order: Turkey, Romania, Switzerland and USA. The xports to Turkey and USA have a steady trend of going down, while the exports to Switzerland and Romania are growing.
